Since 2016, Michael has been working with change2target to help an automaker identify and increase unused sales potential.

 

Michael is an implementation consultant – one who is not afraid to get his hands dirty, solve problems and, in close cooperation with the client, successfully implement strategies. 

For Michael, a good day at the office is one where he does not just sit at his desk. He would rather be on the road, working where his clients work. After all, that is what an Implementation Consultant does. Implementation is the main focus of the job. Once a project strategy has been adopted, the top priority should be to make progress through a series of small steps and do everything it takes to achieve the defined targets in cooperation with the client. Michael says: “I want to share knowledge and develop concrete solutions for problems. My ‘outside’ perspective also helps the client in the process.”

 

Diverse scope of tasks

 

Michael joined change2target in August 2016. As an Implementation Consultant, he works for a global automaker looking to identify unused market potential within parts sales of original spare parts to independent car repair shops and expand this sales channel. “I discuss future sales activities with the parts wholesalers in order to increase sales to independent workshops. I look at the potential that has yet to be increased and I recommend courses of action.”

A Professional Service Network that supports independent garages in ordering and using original parts from the automaker's wholesale dealers plays a vital role. Michael’s job is to work with the client to advance the network in terms of its offerings and functions.

Michael introduces new functions to dealers and supports them in their marketing activities by providing advertising templates or training sessions. But that is not all: Michael helps come up with bonus programs for dealers, implementation guidelines and presentations, attends regional strategy meetings and acts as a specialist during dealer and partner trainings.

 

Make your own schedule and take on responsibility

 

“change2target offers all its employees the opportunity to take on responsibility for projects and clients and bring their individual talents to the table.” That is because added value and value management for the client are what count for everyone at change2target. “I usually have my regular appointments with the client on Monday, such as my regular meeting with the project team for the parts network. Then I normally visit the retail partners from Tuesday to Friday. When I don’t have any visits planned, I sometimes work from home.” 

Learning on the job is also of tremendous importance to the business graduate. “My job consists of situations and topics that are constantly changing. I learn something new every day.” Is there anything that stresses him out from time to time? “There is: when I don’t get important information on time or my schedule gets turned on its head,” he says, adding: “But flexibility is also a tremendously important part of successfully implementing projects. That makes my work exciting every day!”
